Busan, Korea : Busan, South Korea. A place I never imagined I'd visit. I arrived on November 5th , after 14 hours in the air, and I will be here until the President's participation in the APEC Summit is complete. For security reasons I can't post too many pictures or give many details about the venues, but I hope to be able to get some good shots that capture the essence of the kind Korean people and their unique culture.

Pacific Grove Triathalon : September 10th, 2005. Went down to beautiful Monteray, CA to get some shots of my friends Jason and Adrian who were racing in the Pacific Grove Triathalon. The morning was cloudy but as the clouds broke the sun came through and it was so awesome. The guys both did great....

Mavericks Big Wave Competition 2006 : Found out at midnight last night, Feb 6th, that the Big Wave Competition was ON. Hurried up to Kate's to grab my camera, slept for a few hours, and headed out early in the morning to join the masses in watching one of the most well-respected big-wave competitions in the world. Sadly, the break was too far off-shore for me to get pics of the surfers, but I think these shots give a general vibe of the scene. I watched guy after guy get just hammered by the up to 40 foot waves - but most of them rode them out... Amazing. Grant "Twiggy" Baker was my favorite - turns out he won the $30,000 cash prize for first place. It was his first competition, and he'd only made it into the competition because of an online poll! 70 degrees, an estimated 50,000 spectators... the "Super Bowl of Surfing". Unreal.
